Southdowns Manor is an exclusive wedding venue hidden away in the heart of the South Downs National Park. It is secluded away from main roads making it an ideal wedding venue for Lizzy and Mark who used the danced their way through their whole wedding day!
Lizzy and Mark used Southdowns Manor to it's full capacity and everything was just perfect for them and their guests. As a photographer my work was cut out and as always I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Mark and Lizzy are both very keen dancers and told me there might be a lot of dancing! I didn't expect quite so much but the dance floor was full all night! I'd love to show you them all, perhaps another individual blog post is due but I have included lots in this brief story of their day.
Rather than just photos of the bride and groom I've shared moments with guests too; all the elements that makes up the wedding day story. Mark and Lizzys day was a really good fun wedding and the days highlights are here for you to see.
And not just one first dance after the meal; there were loads of them and all day too!
On arrival everyone had their fingers crossed for the morning clouds to clear (spoiler alert; they did!)
with more guest beginning to arrive it was time for Mark and Lizzy to prepare for their wedding ceremony at Southdowns Manor: Mark and Lizzy had a 4pm wedding ceremony so both prepared at the venue, but in separate rooms at either end of the corridor. It certainly builds tension for the big moment! Mark was helped with the tension and his tie by his best man:
and to the opposite end of the corridor where Lizzy is getting ready with the help of family and friends:
As the photographer I get to see the hubbub of the guests arriving (I've always wanted to use that word!). The buzz of excitement before the big moment:
...and the grooms tension building as he waits for his wife to be: After accepting congratulations and hugs from their guests Lizzy and Mark snuck off into the gardens of Southdowns Manor for a little time alone:
and just at the right time the sun turned up and decided to stay too:
Lizzy and Mark dancing in the sun on their wedding day:
The onlooking judges were very strict:
Cake made by Lizzy's brother, his first ever attempt too! Mark is carpenter by profession and he made the brilliant table plan himself:
Speech time, starting with the Father of the bride first: The Grooms speech, Mark's stories were brilliant, had everyone laughing! and of course, the last speech is left to the best man, and it went down a treat:
The dessert buffet was very popular (obviously, look at it!):
And on to the much anticipated first dance (or at least the first dance indoors anyway). The dancing didn't stop all the way to the end with everyone joining in. A full dance floor all night thanks to having lots of dance friends and DJ Mark Winter
Popping outside for a breather and I spy this discarded packet and a little further a sneaky celebratory cigar gathering:
The music and dancing stopped just before midnight, this is those very last few moments...
and the very end of the last dance of the night:
This is just a small selection of the full gallery of photographs that make up the story of Lizzy and Mark's big day. If you were a guest and want to see more contact Lizzy or Mark for the details.
A brilliant wedding day full of love, fun and of course dancing! Such great guests too, lovely to meet all the family and friends.
Wishing Mark and Lizzy all the very best in their life together as Husband and Wife.
