Michelle and Rich Lansley's wedding at Lusty Galze Beach, Newquay, Cornwall.... what a day!
So many stories I don't think I can fit it all in to one update; more will follow. First though, a summary of Michelle and Rich's fantastic summer beach wedding at Lusty Glaze beach in Cornwall.
I was booked over a year in advance to photograph the big day for Michelle and Rich and in that time we became good friends too. We did 2 engagement shoots, one in the winter and one in the spring. Colour has been a big theme throughout with both of them having a keen eye for their art, Rich being an artist (link to his work at the end of this post).
In Newquay Michelle and Rich had rented a big house to stay in for the week with friends and family but of course on the night before the big day they stayed apart. FI was there for the full day to cover everything and so started with Rich at the Kallacliff guest house next to Lusty Glaze. Observing the guys getting ready was great fun but that is a story for another post! I met all the girls and brides family getting ready at the house on the other side of Newquay were all the colours started to show for the theme of the wedding.
The ceremony was very personal since the registrar was their good friend Mike (also seen in photos below ironing!). He managed to bring out all the emotions including some laughs and Rich's mum Rhoda did a brilliant reading. After the ceremony we moved onto the beach for some relaxed photography out in the sun and as close to the crashing surf as we could get without sinking!
A beach BBQ was served inside the fantastic Lusty Glaze venue for the meal, the staff all making it such a perfect atmosphere. All very chilled and friendly yet professional with everything going to plan. The speeches were spot on. A heart felt one from Michelle's dad and then came the best man Craig; the guests received photos, 3 songs, brilliant stories, school reports, art work and loads of laughs. Craig, you need to be on the stage!
You'll also see here Michelle and Rich taking a late evening walk down by the surf, taking some quiet time together on their beach wedding. After chilling on the beach with drinks all the guests went back into the big windowed Lusty Glaze venue marquee for the first dance with acousitc sounds by Skaraman (who also happened to be Mike the registrar!) An awesome cake cutting scene followed (Look out for it in the photos, have you ever seen one like this?!) and of course we managed to capture that awesome sunset closing scene.
So much of the detail and other stories from the day will be covered in subsequent posts. Make sure to look out for the photo of Michelle and Rich laughing; laughing very hard! Only the guests from the day will know why that is. More to be revealed in a later update where the truth will be bared to all!
It was a pleasure to meet all the guests at the wedding. Michelle and Rich have a link and passcode for you to see the whole gallery of photos
