I have photographed business editorials in magazines lots of times now but this one is different because it is about me!
Etc magazine have run an article on me, Adam de-Ste-Croix, and what I do for people with Sainte Croix Photography.
The lovely Charlotte Pearson of Etc Magazine interviewed me over a cuppa. She must be a great journalist because in our interview travel was mentioned and when that happens I just don't shut up; all the adventure stories started to pour out and it was probably too much! It was nice to chat with Charlotte though and from all my jumbled up tales she has produced an article that makes sense; Thanks Charlotte!
I also sent Charlotte a link to a portfolio of my photography to choose from and I am really pleased with the ones that are used.
Thank you to Katie (portraiture), Hollie and Jayjay (Wedding) and Zara Watson (fashion) whose photographs were all published. I'll be sending you all a free print of the photo used and I have a copy of the magazine for you too. They have even used a couple of my travel images in both the magazine and a separate article on their website too.
Credits for hair and make-up to Natalie Watson MUA for "Paris in the Spring time, 1940" and for "Zara with Latte, Italy" to Helen Lesley MUA.
You can pick up a copy of Etc magazine from Hampshire and West Sussex's finer shops, restaurants and businesses. (It is also winner of regional magazine of the year!). I have worked with local businesses and produced advertisements and editorial photography which is regularly featured in Etc magazine so I feel privileged to be featured myself for a change.
On this journal post, the photo was taken by me using remote control. I thought it would be more fun to produce a selfie holding the magazine (and for this one almost serious photo there are probably 20 very silly ones!). Thankfully though, my portrait in the article had previously been created by good friend and fellow photographer Christina Lauder FSWPP of christinalauderportraits.com. Being the other side of the lens for a professional portrait gave me a real sense of how it feels for my clients. I can relate to how they feel and and make them feel at ease and relaxed so they an enjoy the experience. (Thank you Christina for the photograph, a great fun experience too).
So don't forget to pick up your copy of Etc Magazine this month. The front cover is shown in the photo above and just in case you can't get a copy there is an on-line version available on the Etc Magazine website of both Hampshire and West Sussex editions for the month of June 2015 HERE!
